India’s most leading private airlines Kingfisher has decided to reduce its airfare in the beginning of the coming year. Vijaya Mallya, the chairman of Kingfisher Airlines, said that Kingfisher is going to effect fare cuts in all its flights from january 1, 2009 but he has not mentioned how much he is going to reduce. In this month, the price of air turbine fuel was decreased to half of what it was in the month of July. This is the lowest price in case of air turbine fuel since last two years. That’s why it is a great oppertunity of Kingfisher airlines to increase their market share by offering five star flying experience at very reduced fare.
Jet Airways had already reduced their airfare by Rs 400 in a month before and now they are also thinking to reduce the fare further which can be effected from the beginning of the coming year. So its a great challenge for Kingfisher to grab the present market.

So India has developed it’s tourism sector quite largely in the past few years. But the recent attack in Mumbai, has effected India’s tourism sector very badly. Already due to the worldwide recession period, tourism of India has faced a big loss in these current days and terrorist attack in Mumbai has caused more slowdown in this sector.
Many tourists from various countries who booked their tour to India, have cancelled their booking due to the problem of insecurity in India. Compared with the past condition, 50% slowdown is currently going in this sector and with the help of the Ministry of Tourism it can be improved to 30% in the coming days. Hotels are the most important component in this sector and if bookings are down in hotels, then the whole sector is going to be affected. So the ultimate solution of this slowdown is to cut down the tariff of the hotels by atleast 20-25%
