50,000 IT jobs may be vapourised in the next yr
The global meltdown has effected the Information Technology sector of India in such a way that the sector is going to face the worst condition in the next year. An union of ITES(Information technology enabled services) sector said that around 50,000 Information technology and business process outsourcing jobs may be lossed in the period of first six months of the year 2009.
Already 10,000 employees of IT and BPO sector, lossed their jobs in the month of September to december. The chances of losing jobs are high in the case of small and big companies whereas on the other hand employees of medium sized companies feel the heat of that. From an servey it is seen that generally freshers and high paid employees of a company are losing their jobs at the time of global economic crisis. A global union of IT sector has suggested that the companies should do one thing to cope up with this situation and the thing is to cut the salaries and incentives of the employees. This would be much better than losing a job.
