The state bank of India which is the largest bank of India, is now offering only 8% interest rates for home loans for the 1st year period. On saturday, SBI has decided to cut the interest rates for home loans. Those persons who will take the loan within the period 2nd february to 30th april, 2009, 8% interest rates will be applicable for them and after this period, the interest rates will go to the previous rate of SBI. Public sector bank chief officers and Pranab Mukherjee who is recently looking after the finance ministry of India, have announced that SME home loan customers will also get this offer. In addition to this, existing home loan customers are also been offered some exciting discount offers.

Adnan Sami is the most popular singer of India. He is one of the old established singers of India. He has been seen in many programs in the television. Even he has performed several times in the bollywood award ceremonies. Recently his wife has done a police case against him. According to his wife Sabah Galadari, Adnan Sami was abusing and mentally harrasing her from the last few days. She filed a case against his husband in a mumbai police station near to their Lokhandwala residence. It was thrusday night, when she compalined against her husband in the Versova police station and she stated that her husband had injured her with the flame of cigarette. In reply to this, Adnan also filed a case stating that a friend of her wife was interfering in their personal life for the last few months.

As the days are going on, man is inventing more and more technologies. Now it’s time to make such a technology which can reduce cost. Government of India has now decided that they will make such a computer whose cost will be around Rs 500 i.e only US$10. This step was taken by the government so that every member in a house can grab the knowledge and specially the students can go through into the deep knowledge of every subject. This will be a special type of computer which is a small equipment and it has LAN and wi-fi facilities and the memory of it can be expandable. On this computers, a package of e-contents of every subject will be installed. IISC Bangalore and Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Madras are jointly organizing this project of this technology and the computers will be available in the market in the next 6 months.

Times Youth Challenge is one of the biggest rock festival of India. Actually this is the festival conducted by the the news group “Times of India”. Every year it is organized in Kolkata. This is a rock festival where bands from all over the eastern part of India comes and participate in the rock band competition. Every year at least 60 rock bands comes from all over the West Bengal and Gangtok. Specially metal and hard rock bands comes from several parts of Gangtok and Darjeeling. The audition was done at the Gokhale Memorial Hall in Kolkata in the previous year and total 67 bands participated in that audition, among which 3 bands were selected in the grand finale. This year the event of solo performance was added in this festival and audition was already held during 3 days. Siddhu, the lead vocalist of the bengali band “Cactus”, was the judge of the event band competition. The grand finale of this event will be on 1st February at Nicco park, Kolkata. The famous Indian Singer Sreya Ghosal will perform in that grand finale.

The fraud hit company Satyam Computer Services was searching for new bankers and recently the new board of Satyam has appointed new bankers and management advisors. The newly appointed management advisors is the renowed Boston Consulting Group and the newly appointed bankers are Goldman Sachs and Avendus. The government appointed board of Satyam which consists of three directors, have done a meeting with the newly appointed bankers and management advisors and they will soon take take necessary steps to increase the fund for Satyam. After the meeting, one thing they assured that the salaries of the employees of Satyam for the month of January are to be paid in the scheduled period.

Tata owned Corus is the leading and the largest steel making company of Britain. Today the officials of the company said that it will cut 3500 jobs this year to stabilize it’s position in the recession hit market. The company will cut more than 2500 jobs in the United Kingdom. The main reason to cut the huge amout of jobs is that the company is targetting to save 200 million pounds this year so that no effect of the recession hits the company. This amount can only be saved if 3500 jobs are vapourised. The company has nearly 41000 employees across the world and among them 20000 are in UK. According to the company, this decision is required for their strategic and structural change.

Just a day before the republic day of India, the capital of India has witnessed a terror activity. Two Pakistanis were killed in Noida, the suburb of the capital Delhi. The two Pakistanis are suspected as the Pakistani terrorists as because they were carrying two AK-47 guns, five grenades and RDX. Police and the local people are suspecting that they had come to Delhi to do terrorist attacks in the republic day. But they were killed by the Uttar Pradesh anti terror squad during the gun battle today morning. The incident happened at nearly 2 am at Sector 97, Noida. The two had came to Noida in a maruti 800 car. They were taken to the nearest hospital where they were declared as dead.

The prime minister of India, Manmohan Singh was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai yerterday. He is undergoing a major heart bypass surgery today. According to the doctors, this bypass surgery consists of three phases. The first phase has already done and it was sucessful and another two similar procedures are to be followed. The first phase of the surgery was done in “All India Institute of Medical Science”, commonly known as AIIMS. Sudhir Vaishnav is the surgeon who is looking after the operation on Manmohan Singh. A medical team consisting of 11 members are performing the operation and this team was formed by the doctor Ramakant Panda. There are 4 doctors in the team and the rest are support staff.

In the bollywood film “Love story 2050″, it was seen that thousands of cars are flying on every direction in the city Mumbai. In the story of the film, the thing was happening in the upcoming year 2050. But the unbelievable thing is going to happen in this year. A company in Boston, United States has recently designed and developed a car which is able to fly too. This is unbeleivable but true. The company has given the name of the special vehicle as “Transition”. The vehicle can run on the road and can take off by unfolding two wings. It can fly upto 500 miles on a full tank of gas and it will land by folding it’s wings and after that you can drive it on the road also. The price of the vehicle will be around 194000 dollars. The name of the company which has founded this vehicle is Terrafugia which was formed by some MIT students in the year 2006.

The new board of Satyam Computer Services is now searching for emergency funds. They are looking for a banker who can manage all the current financial issues and help the company to establish a fund immediately. The board has said that thay will soon appoint a banker for the same reason. Deepak Parekh, one of the new member of the board of directors of Satyam, has said that the company has recently received some money to get the fund and the board will soon organize a meeting in this issue. According to Parekh, they are trying their best to secure a fund. He has said that the company has 17 billion rupees as receivables and they will make a fund with this receivables to ensure that the employees are paid at the right time.
