Tata owned Corus to cut 3500 jobs this year

Tata owned Corus is the leading and the largest steel making company of Britain. Today the officials of the company said that it will cut 3500 jobs this year to stabilize it’s position in the recession hit market. The company will cut more than 2500 jobs in the United Kingdom. The main reason to cut the huge amout of jobs is that the company is targetting to save 200 million pounds this year so that no effect of the recession hits the company. This amount can only be saved if 3500 jobs are vapourised. The company has nearly 41000 employees across the world and among them 20000 are in UK. According to the company, this decision is required for their strategic and structural change.
